FKM Unhas Admits 194 Postgraduate and Professional Dietitian Students in the Final Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year

The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Hasanuddin once again welcomed a new generation of scholars through the Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PKKMB) for the End Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, covering Master’s (S2), Doctoral (S3), and Professional Education programs.

Students were admitted through various pathways, including independent admission, Thematic Research Group (TRG), partnership-based affirmative schemes, regular research tracks, TRG–foreign student pathways, as well as international students from Timor-Leste, Africa, and China.

PELAKITA.ID – The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Hasanuddin once again welcomed a new generation of scholars through the Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PKKMB) for the End Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, covering Master’s (S2), Doctoral (S3), and Professional Education programs.

The activity was held on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) at the Prof. Dr. Ir. Fachruddin Hall, Graduate School of Universitas Hasanuddin.

This event marked the initial gateway of the postgraduate academic journey, where students will undertake learning, research, and community service within the FKM Unhas environment.

Official Reception by the Faculty Leadership

The opening ceremony proceeded solemnly as the Dean of FKM Unhas, Prof. Sukri Palutturi, officially received the new students.

In his remarks, Prof. Sukri reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to becoming a leading institution, excelling in the development of internationally standardized public health education, and contributing to national well-being based on Indonesia’s maritime continent vision.

“I invite new students to work together in building an Integrity Zone at FKM Unhas,” Prof. Sukri expressed.

New students also received comprehensive briefings from the faculty leadership, including:

  • Dr. Wahiduddin, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Services

  • Prof. Dr. Atjo Wahyu, Vice Dean for Planning and Resources

  • Prof. Anwar Mallongi, Vice Dean for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Alumni

  • Prof. dr. Hasanuddin Ishak, Chair of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Enhancement Unit

The presentations covered academic policy directions, quality assurance systems, research strategies, and opportunities for national and international collaboration.

Student Intake Profile

In this period, FKM Unhas admitted 194 new students, consisting of:

  • 19 Doctoral (S3) students

  • 155 Master’s (S2) students across six study programs

  • 20 Professional Dietitian Education students (the first cohort)

The enrollment of 20 Professional Dietitian students marks an important milestone as the inaugural cohort of this program at FKM Unhas.

In terms of gender composition, there are 37 male and 157 female students.

Students were admitted through various pathways, including independent admission, Thematic Research Group (TRG), partnership-based affirmative schemes, regular research tracks, TRG–foreign student pathways, as well as international students from Timor-Leste, Africa, and China.

Implementation of the New Curriculum (K25)

This academic year marks the implementation of the 2025 Curriculum (K25) for Master’s, Doctoral, and Professional Education programs. The minimum study load is 46 credit units for Master’s programs and 60 credit units for Doctoral programs.

FKM Unhas also reaffirmed the standard duration of study:

  • Master’s Program (S2): 4 semesters (maximum 6 semesters)

  • Doctoral Program (S3): minimum 6 semesters and maximum 10 semesters

As part of academic quality assurance, one of the graduation requirements for the Master’s Program is that a scientific article must be accepted in a reputable international journal indexed by Scopus.

The Postgraduate PKKMB is not merely a welcoming ceremony, but also a space for orienting values, academic culture, and professional commitment.

Through this activity, new students are expected to adapt to the academic environment, understand the learning system, and prepare themselves to become public health researchers and practitioners who make tangible contributions to the nation and the global community.
