PELAKITA.ID – MAKASSAR, INDONESIA – As the global community continues to grapple with complex health crises, the Department of Nutrition Science at the Faculty of Public Health, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), has announced the return of its flagship event: The 3rd International Conference on Nutrition and Public Health (ICNPH 3).
Scheduled to take place on April 8–9, 2026, at the UNHAS Hotel and Convention in Makassar, the conference serves as a vital platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to collaborate on sustainable health solutions.
Unpacking the Triple Burden
This year’s conference centers on a critical and timely theme: “Unpacking the Triple Burden of Malnutrition: Holistic Approaches to Nutrition Challenges.”
The “triple burden” refers to the coexistence of undernutrition (stunting and wasting), micronutrient deficiencies, and overweight or obesity within the same communities, households, and even individuals.
Addressing this phenomenon requires more than just clinical intervention; it demands a multi-sectoral approach involving policy, food science, and environmental health.
A Global Gathering of Experts
ICNPH 3 will feature a prestigious lineup of keynote and invited speakers from world-renowned institutions. Representatives from UNICEF, alongside global public health experts and leading academic researchers, will share insights into evidence-based strategies to combat nutritional disparities.
The conference will cover a broad spectrum of topics, ensuring a comprehensive look at the public health landscape. Key tracks include:
-
Nutrition: Public Health, Clinical, and Maternal & Child Health.
-
Science & Policy: Food Science and Technology, Health Policy & Management, and Health Information Management.
-
Core Public Health: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Promotion, and Occupational Health.
